Aintree audiology department still open
April 6, 2020
Healthwatch Sefton has been contacted by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to reassured patients that the Audiology/Hearing Aid Department at Aintree University Hospital is still open.
It is continuing to provide hearing aid batteries and replace, repair and maintain patients hearing aids during the Covid 19 pandemic
A postal service for those who wish to use it is also still available.
The contact details for the audiology department are email audiology@aintree.nhs.uk or telephone 529 0328 / 0329.

Been ringing the audiology department not answering the phone. All I what to know is the drop off service still available.
Hello George, thanks for your comment. Our Signposting and Information Officer has contacted Aintree Audiology department and it still has the drop-off service operating. The drop off needs to be before 11am and collected after 12noon, but when you drop-off they should give a time when it needs to be collected.
Are audiology appointments available? I have not rang up during lockdown. I assumed it was all closed and didn’t want to bother anyone. I need new tubes for my hearing aids and the right one needs looking at.
Hello Amanda, Thanks for getting in touch. This is what is on the website about Aintree’s Audiology Department – “We are still open Monday–Friday (please ask the person attending on your behalf to visit the unit before 12 noon), to assist those who are vulnerable and need new batteries or a hearing aid repair. Alternatively, for assistance, please call 0151 529 0328, email: audiology@aintree.nhs.uk or post your hearing aids to: Audiology Department, Elective Care Centre, Aintree University Hospital, Liverpoool, L9 7AL.” Best wishes, The Healthwatch Sefton team
