Campaign to raise awareness of rise in over 55’s using loan sharks

The Illegal Money Lending Team are running a campaign to raise awareness on the dangers of borrowing from illegal lenders (also known as loan sharks) to people aged 55 and over.
In an Age UK Report (2023) they have found that millions of older people are borrowing money, using credit and not able to pay bills due to the cost-of-living crisis. The number of older people using loan sharks is also growing, with 237,000 over 55’s borrowing.
