Can you help develop NICE guidance?
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is looking for people to join a committee developing NICE guidance for the NHS and local government.
People are needed to help develop its guideline on Children and young people with disabilities & severe complex needs: integrated health & social care support & service guidance.
People interested in joining should:
- have personal experience as a disabled child or young person with severe and complex needs and have received treatment and care provided by both the NHS and social care services (please note that you need to be 16 and over to join this committee)
- be a parent, relative or unpaid carer of a child or young person who has used relevant health and social care services
- be a volunteer or employee of a relevant voluntary organisation or support group
NICE welcomes applications from those who have recent experience or knowledge of this topic and are able to reflect the views, experiences and needs of the public to ensure they are included in the development of this guideline. They need to be able to contribute effectively in a committee meeting, but would receive lots of support as well as training from NICE’s public involvement team in order to do this. Lay members are paid a fee to attend meetings and travel and other expenses are covered.
