Former Southport Midwife chosen to represent Southport Hospital at the NHS 75 celebrations in Westminster Abbey.

Congratulations to Anne Major, former midwife and current volunteer for Healthwatch Sefton who was chosen to represent Southport Hospital at Westminster Abbey to celebrate 75 years of the NHS.

Anne was nominated by Southport Hospital for her dedication to the NHS throughout her career, where she cared for patients, relatives and teams within Nursing, Midwifery and Neonatal Care in Liverpool Women’s Hospital and Southport and Ormskirk District General Hospital.

Anne is a volunteer for Healthwatch Sefton, as the Locality Representative for Central Southport and Healthwatch Sefton Ambassador within several organisations including North West Ambulance Service, Liverpool Women’s Hospital and Southport and Ormskirk District General Hospital.

Anne said:

“I was a really emotional day, I am so proud to be part of the NHS as it is such a wonderful organisation.

“I am proud to represent both Southport Hospital and Healthwatch Sefton as I am proud of the work that HWS does in listening to the public’s journeys through these services, with the aim of supporting the providers to improve that journey.”
