Healthwatch England’s annual report features local Healthwatch work on patient experiences with Long Covid service
Healthwatch England have launched their 2022-23 annual report, “The value of listening”. 2023 marked a decade since Healthwatch’s establishment – a decade that’s seen us empower millions of people to share their personal experiences of care.
The healthcare system is facing its biggest challenges yet. In our annual report, we show how listening to the voices of the public can lead to a system that works better for everyone.
Read about Healthwatch Sefton’s work sharing valuable insight with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, to help increase awareness among residents, of its Long Covid service, on page 34 of the report. Areas of improvement for change were also shared with Mersey Care after talking to local residents who had accessed the Long Covid service.
In telling their stories, members of the public have demonstrated the power they have to show what is and isn’t working about our health and social care system. They have been pivotal not only in identifying the issues, but in highlighting how to make real and lasting change.
