Healthwatch Sefton Assists CQC to Rate Bootle GP Surgery in Latest Review

Healthwatch Sefton provide key feedback to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to support official inspection findings at North Park Health Centre.

North Park Health Centre in Bootle was rated as ‘inadequate’ by the CQC, patient feedback collected from local residents by Healthwatch Sefton, provided important insight to support the inspection.

Healthwatch Sefton Chairman John Turner said: “Healthwatch is the independent champion providing a voice for users of Health and Social Care. The valuable feedback gathered by Healthwatch Sefton supported the Care Quality Commission in forming their assessment of North Park Health Centre”

“We value our strong partnerships with regulators, commissioners and providers, remaining impartial whilst working with partners to support them to listen to what matters to those accessing their services. We take pride in our collaborative working ethos, which is key to maintaining excellent standards bringing about positive action when necessary.”

There is now a new provider in place at North Park Health Centre, Primary Care 24 (PC24) have taken over the contract from TCG Medical.

Dave Horsfield, Primary Care 24’s CEO said: “Having taken over the practice earlier than anticipated on 1st April following its inadequate rating, we have already developed an improvement plan and taken immediate actions to improve services for patients.  Our plan is based both on the CQC report and the valuable feedback that Healthwatch Sefton collected.  We will continue to work closely with Healthwatch Sefton and directly with our patients to keep them at the centre of our improvement journey.”

Wendy Andersen, Engagement Manager at Healthwatch Sefton said: “I am so pleased that the Care Quality Commission used feedback collected from local residents in their assessment of North Park Health Centre, this just demonstrates to Sefton residents, the power of feedback and how incredibly important it is.
