Keeping in touch with loved ones in hospital
In line with other hospital trusts, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust no longer allows visitors into its hospitals in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.
However, the trust recognises this can be difficult when people have relatives or friends in hospital so it has set up a new Family Liaison Service which has different options on how people can keep in contact with their loved ones.
It is seen as an essential service as part of the Trust’s Covid management plan and staff have been redeployed from across the organisation to support the service which went live on 1st April.
Full details on the service are in this leaflet.
There are also plans to introduce a Paired Heart scheme using donated knitted hearts, giving one to the patient and one to loved one to connect them.
