Participants within Sefton wanted for study exploring the safeguarding process for people living with dementia

August 17, 2023

Are you someone with dementia or a carer or professional who has been involved in the adult safeguarding process?

Participants Required!

Why this study?
This study is exploring how health and social care workers work together to protect people with dementia from abuse and neglect (which is known as adult safeguarding). We want to know how professionals work together to do this and how this is experienced by people living with dementia and their carers.

Who would we like to speak to?
Adults with dementia who have been referred to the local authority because of concerns about abuse and neglect and have been part of a safeguarding enquiry. We would also like to speak to the carers of people who have experienced this, as well as to health and care professionals who have been involved in the adult safeguarding process.

What will it involve?
An individual interview or a focus group (choice of virtual or face to-face session), lasting up to 90 minutes. Please request an information sheet for more details.
