Public discussions on social care Green Paper
The Local Government Association (LGA) is currently consulting on a Green Paper: The Lives We Want to Lead; the Future of Adult Social Care.
Jayne Vincent, Consultation and Engagement Lead with Sefton Council, explains: “The demand for adult social care and support is growing, not just in Sefton, but across the country. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to keep services going under the current funding model. That is why the organisation that represents all local councils in England, the Local Government Association, has asked us to provide opinions, experiences and suggestions from our residents on the future of adult social care.”
In order to collect as many local views as possible, the council is hosting two public discussions on the future of adult social care and support:
Tuesday 11th September 2018 (10am–12.30pm) at Bootle Town Hall, Oriel Road, Bootle.
Wednesday 12th September 2018 (10am–12.30pm) at Waterside Lodge, Marine Drive, Southport, PR8 1RY.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to express your views, you can respond directly to the LGA by visiting www.futureofadultsocialcare.co.uk/summary-green-paper.
To ensure everyone’s view is captured Sefton Council has also compiled an easy read version of the Green Paper so that people can be supported to give their opinion. Click here to read the Easy Read version
