Update on COVID-19 vaccinations

March 24, 2021

Healthwatch Sefton has been made aware of people locally being anxious about not receiving a date for their second COVID-19 vaccination.

NHS Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS South Sefton CCG want to reassure local residents about this and have commented: “Please do not worry that you have not yet been given a date for your second vaccination, appointments will be issued once we have had a confirmation of our vaccine delivery date.”

Another concern has been around the issuing of vaccination cards. The CCGs have told Healthwatch Sefton that not all sites issue these because information is captured electronically.

The CCGs explained: “Paper vaccination cards will be issued when you receive your second vaccination. Please do not worry, all the information about your vaccine is stored on your medical record which is accessible by your GP.”

  1. I can understand the anxiety felt by many people who have not had their second date for their vaccination. My father is in the most vulnerable group and cannot understand why those around him have a second appointment when he does not. As the twelve week time window approaches, he is becoming more anxious. Our doctors have been kind and understanding about the situation but seem to be at the mercy of the system themselves, assuring us that we should hear about an appointment soon. There is also the worry about whether the same types of jab as before can be given. I can see that the vaccine programme is going really well on the whole and applaud all those involved in its delivery but do feel sorry for those in this position.

  2. HI I FEEL THE SAME I AM 93 WAITING FOR MY SECOND JAB WHEN IS IT BEING DONE IT HAS BEEN 9 WEEK SINCE THE LAST ONE I AM IN THE AT RISK ONE LIST REGARDS R.M.
