Update on Healthwatch Sefton activities
As you will be aware, the emergence of Coronavirus is requiring governments, organisations, and individuals to make a range of changes to our normal everyday activities to help delay the spread of the virus.
Much of our work is undertaken with vulnerable groups who are potentially at greater risk if they were exposed to the virus. Therefore, following guidance from our colleagues at Healthwatch England and Sefton CVS, Healthwatch Sefton has taken the decision to cancel meetings and other face-to-face activities until the end of April 2020, when this will be reviewed.
During this period, Healthwatch Sefton will be aiming to support people in other ways, such as providing information and signposting to relevant services.
All Healthwatch Sefton volunteer activities will also be postponed during this time and please keep yourself up to date with the latest guidance – https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
Particular care to minimise their social contact has been recommended for:
- People over the age of 70
- Other adults who would normally be advised to have the flu vaccine (such as those with chronic diseases)
- Pregnant women
