Invitation to Focus on Kidneys at Aintree University Hospital on Monday 23 May

A public health information event, Focus on Kidneys, is happening at Aintree University Hospital on Monday 23 May at 2.00pm.
‘Focus on’ events aim to give an overview of common medical conditions and the services provided at Aintree in a friendly and accessible way. They are open to everyone including colleagues, patients, families and carers, and anyone with an interest. so if you haven’t been before, why not come along?

The event will provide an overview of the kidneys, dialysis, kidney diseases and injury by Aintree’s Nephrology team and there will also be a kidney health screening session open to everyone before the presentations start.

This year’s ‘Focus on’ events at Aintree are:

Focus on Kidneys – Monday 23 May, 2.00pm
Includes free kidney health screening from 12.00 noon – 2.00pm
Find out more about kidneys from the Aintree Nephrology team.  Clinical staff will give an overview of the kidneys, dialysis, and kidney disease and injuries

Focus on Discharge – Wednesday 1 June, 2.00pm
Aintree staff and partner organisations will discuss how patients are discharged after a hospital stay, including information and advice on ensuring a patient returns home safely.

Focus on Support for Carers – Wednesday 20 July, 2.00pm
A range of Aintree teams and partner organisations will be on hand to provide information on services and support available for those caring for a loved one.

Focus on Stroke – Friday 9 September, 2.00pm
The Aintree Stroke Team will discuss the causes, treatment, rehabilitation and latest research into stroke including help available from the Stroke Association and other organisations.

Events take place in the Clinical Science Centre at Aintree and are completely free.

Aintree’s Public Governors will also be available at these events to hear views on hospital services.
