The Philippi Trust is a Christian Counselling and Training organisation whose qualified counsellors offer their services voluntarily to provide affordable counselling to the local community. We have offices in St Helens (Head Office), Bolton, and Southport in the North West, as well as in Reading and Cornwall. We cater for all ages, from 7 years upwards, and operate on a donation basis. All counsellors belong to an ethical body – either ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors) or BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to a rigid code of ethics and practice. All counsellors must receive regular supervision and we undertake to provide regular Continuous Professional Development. We provide counselling placements for students from local Universities and Colleges.

Our counsellors are professionals, with a clear professional identity, clear standards of training and ethical principles and a robust regulatory process that clients can trust. Counselling psychologists work with individuals, children, families and/or couples and intervene with life challenges, and developmental problems to assist clients optimize their psychological wellbeing.

Our counselling shows acceptance of anyone and everyone who come through the door, and a safe space in which to talk about their situations. It is provided by people from the local community for the local community, to meet an immediate need until those people have recovered their ability to look after themselves.

It has always been our aim to offer professional quality counselling for anyone in need on a donation-only basis. To allow this distinctive service to continue, and so we can move towards paying our few employed staff at a reasonable rate, we would like you to consider our fair donation principle.
