Interim provider – Maghull and Netherton GP practices
See below update from NHS England regarding an interim provider for Maghull and Netherton GP practices
“NHS England – North (Cheshire and Merseyside) wrote to you recently to update you on the outcome of our General Practice contract procurement in Sefton. You may recall that we had been unable to find permanent providers to run Netherton Practice and Maghull Practice and had appointed an interim provider to deliver services at both practices under a 12-month contract from 1 April 2016. I now need to update you that the new interim provider has withdrawn and NHS England has put alternative arrangements in place to ensure that patients at Netherton Practice and Maghull Practice can continue to receive high quality GP services from 1 April, 2017. I am pleased to inform you that we have secured Urgent Care 24 (UC24) to run these practices for the next 12 months. UC24 provides GP In and Out of Hours; NHS 111 and community services across the North West and has recently been awarded the contracts to run five GP practices in Crosby, Litherland and Seaforth. This will ensure stability for both practices while we continue to work to find a permanent provider. I would like to assure you that there will be no change for patients and services will continue to be provided at both practices in their existing premises as normal.”
