Celebrating 70 years of the NHS

July 5, 2018

70 years ago today the NHS was launched and, over the years, there has been a variety of organisations which have had the patient voice as a focus.

In this clip, Liz Dowd, a Senior Manager with Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group and a local Sefton councillor, talks about her work with south Sefton Community Health Council when she was its Chief Officer.

If you were a member of the Community Health Councils in Sefton during the 1990s and early 2000s, or part of the Patient and Public Involvement Forums, or Sefton LINk then we would love to her from you. Contact us via email on info@healthwatchsefton.co.uk

Keep an eye out as we will be showcasing the work of all these organisations soon with a special celebration NHS 70 video.

  1. I was proud to be the Admin Officer for South Sefton Community Health Council all those years ago and working with Liz Johnson as she was known then. Happy to still be working for the NHS as a PALS Officer for Merseyside and Lancashire CCGs!
