- Shared Reading Group – every Friday 12:30-2pm – enjoy a cup of tea and biscuit, relax and meet new people while reading out or listening to a poem or short story – join in the discussion. No charge – just turn up.
- Diabetes Drop-in advice every Monday starting 9th January until March 2017.
- Online Today – free IT session for the visually impaired – find out how technology such as smartphones and tablets can transform your daily life. Session is delivered by an expert from Action for Blind People. Ongoing sessions available. Contact the library to book a place.
- Visually Impaired Reading Groups – Contact Library for details.
- Dementia Awareness Drop in day – Friday 27th January 10am-4pm. For advice and support for those with Dementia or family and friends of people with Dementia, The Alzheimer’s Society, Formby Project, Sefton Pensioners Advocacy Centre and others will be here to help. *Also on this date the Rotary Club of Formby will be here at 11am to official present the bench they have gifted to the Major of Sefton and Formby Library, celebrating their 50th anniversary
- Monthly Talk – February 14th 2pm – ‘The Lettuce Line’ by Keith Hicks – find out about West Lancs, Liverpool, Southport and Preston Junction Railways 1878-1964. Free event but contact the library to book a place.
- Blue Badge Assessments & Active Lifestyles Health Assessments – via appointment through Blue Badge/Active Sefton Teams.
- IPad/Tablet courses, beginners and intermediate – five week courses delivered by Sefton Adult Education tutors, fee may be applicable, contact the library for more information.
- Ongoing IT One to One sessions with our digital volunteers, get online confidence! Tailored to meet individual need.
- Creative writing and poetry course – (date and time to be confirmed) – a five week course to be delivered by Sefton Adult Education. Contact the library to express an interest, more information on the course and fee (this is not a free course).
- Job Club – Wednesdays at Formby Library 2.30pm-4.30pm. Help with Job Searches, Updating CVs and completing Application Forms
- Business Start Up Advice – Tuesdays at Formby Library – 1.00pm onwards.
- Home Visit Service – Have books delivered & collected to/from your home. For anyone who has difficulties getting to your local library.
- Borrow Box App – e-book and e-audio borrowing through your phone, tablet or laptop/pc.

- Tea & Tunes Event – Themed event with music, singing, a quiz and memory boxes. Come Sing, enjoy, share memories & test your knowledge. Tea & coffee & cakes for all!
- Art in Libraries – Artist have been commissioned using funding from the Arts Council to develop art projects through the libraries with the local community. Projects will be developed with the locality/community in mind.
