New one-stop service for Urology outpatients

June 4, 2024

A new Urology Centre has opened at Aintree University Hospital, offering outpatients a one-stop service where they can have diagnostic investigations, scans, consultations and outpatient treatments in a welcoming, dedicated environment.

The new centre on Ward 13 will increase our capacity to see patients in an environment which suits their urological needs.

The opening of the new centre comes as LUHFT recently welcomed urology colleagues from across the UK for the annual International British Urology Society (IBUS) meeting, which was hosted at Aintree University Hospital (pictured below).

The event provided an opportunity for urologists who are of an overseas origin and have a background of working in the NHS, to come together and address common issues and challenges for the overseas workforce.

Suresh Venugopal, Consultant Robotic and Urological Surgeon and local organising secretary for IBUS, said: “It’s brilliant that LUHFT has had the opportunity to host the event. It demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and for the ethnic minority and international medical graduate workforce.”
