Patient Participation Group (PPG)
What is a Patient Participation Group?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of people who are patients of a GP surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.
The purpose of any PPG is to facilitate patients and the practice staff working together to share ideas to help improve the services offered at the practice in addition to sourcing out any local community services that would help enhance aspects of the patient’s lives.
Become a voluntary member of your local Patient Participation Group and you can…
Meet with other patients and practice staff
Influence decision making about NHS services
Work in partnership with the practice to explore new ideas
Provide constructive feedback on practice services
