Opportunity to share lived experiences of women’s services with NHS Cheshire and Merseyside
What we’re looking for?
As part of planning for a public engagement process, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside is currently looking to speak with patients who are willing to take part in a guided 1:1 conversation/interview about their lived experiences of receiving complex or high risk maternity or gynaecology care.
We are specifically looking to speak with people who have experiences where care was transferred from Liverpool Women’s to another hospital such as the Royal Liverpool, due to complications or needing more specialist support – whether that transfer was planned, or happened in an emergency. Those who are family members or carers with relevant lived experience are also invited to take part. These conversations will help us to better understand patient experience around this subject and how to improve these services for the future.
What will it involve?
Each 1:1 guided conversation/interview will be conducted online (via MS Teams) and will take no more than 30 -45 minutes to complete. It will be conducted by a member of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside’s communications and engagement team, and will be scheduled at a time that suits the participant.
Discussion questions can be provided in advance, to allow participants some time to consider their responses and prepare.
Please be assured that these conversations will be strictly confidential, and no patient identifiable information will be used.
How will the information be used?
A summary of any key issues/points/ themes raised by participants answers will be written up after the session by the facilitator. All patient identifiable data will be removed from this summary, and all record of the conversation will be destroyed afterwards.
Key themes gathered in 1:1 interviews will be summarised in a section of an engagement report, which will be published later this year and used to help inform decision making on potential changes to improve these services.
