Your invitation to public events

October 18, 2019

Together with the two NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Sefton, we have arranged two special events in November for local residents to attend.

The events are designed to give people the chance to support their local NHS to improve and develop services by joining their local Patient Participation Group (PPG).

This has been an area of work raised at the Healthwatch Sefton Community Champion network meetings – both north and south & central – and last year the south and central Community Champion network held a meeting themed on PPGs.

During May 2019 Healthwatch Sefton worked in partnership with the CCGs and held an event at St. Stephens Hall, Hightown for GP Practice Managers to find out from them what they needed to develop or set up their own PPG.

The two events in November are a follow-up for patients to come along and find out more about the benefits of being a PPG member and how to join up.

What to expect at the event:

  • Find out what a Patient Participation Group (PPG) does, what being a member involves and hear from current PPG members
  • Learn about new developments and services at your GP practice and in the community
  • Meet and chat to a variety of healthcare professionals working across Sefton at the health and wellbeing marketplace

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
